Many Fans Don’t Know

What’s something about you fans would be surprised to know?
I was homeless for 6 months in New York City in 1985.

Did being homeless for 6 months change you in some way?
It made me a stronger person I think, able to handle adversity better. If you can make it in NY, you can make it anywhere.

Writing a Book

Imagine you just completed writing a book, what is the book about?
I actually started writing a book a few years ago called Walking Out Of Homelessness.

What was the impetus for writing your story and wanting to share your experience?
I think I always knew I would write about this experience, but it took many years before I was able to start writing it. It’s weird that I have never talked about it onstage, I guess I felt all these years later that I’m still close to being homeless.    I’ve been told it’s an interesting story that should be heard.

Last Question

If you were told you tomorrow that tomorrow night is the last night that you could perform comedy, would you still perform and why?
Of course, what the hell else would I do?!

Mr. William Stephenson, thank you for sharing your story with fromacloud.
